The Role: We are a fast-growing startup looking for a highly motivated and scrappy individual to join and lead our finance function. Your primary objectives will be to manage company finances and partner with the executive team to continue to drive revenue growth, control burn, and maintain a strong finance program. This role will first and foremost manage traditional accounting and controller duties, but also expand and grow to encompass financial planning & analysis This role will also be tasked with growing our finance function as the company scales and managing the team of internal and external team members in finance.

Employment Type:

  • Full-time, in person in Sandy, Utah.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the budgeting process, including the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial plans.

  • Own our accounting and reporting functions, coordinating with external firms and auditors. You will need to own current and future financial audits, so experience with auditing is a huge preference.

  • Build and manage all financial policies.

  • Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analysis to stakeholders in conjunction with our outside accounting firm. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

  • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure financial stability and operational efficiency. Develop strategies to optimize cash flow and manage working capital.

  • Oversee and manage the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. Implement strategies to optimize collections and payment cycles.

  • Identify and mitigate financial risks. Implement robust internal controls and ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

  • Manage our Carta instance, and partner with leadership in leading any major financial events, such as fundraises.

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s growth objectives. Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team.

What you possess

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

  • CPA is strongly preferred

  • Proven experience in a startup or high-growth company is highly desirable

  • Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulations

  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly

  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, including advanced Excel/Sheets skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
