Director of Insurance Partnerships and Development
About Frontline Wildfire Defense
At Frontline Wildfire Defense, our mission is to protect homes, families, and communities from wildfire disasters. Our innovative wildfire defense system allows homeowners to track wildfires, receive critical alerts, and actively safeguard their properties using a remotely operated fire protection system. With multiple layers of redundancy, our system hydrates homes and surrounding areas to prevent ignition from flying embers—the #1 cause of structure loss during wildfires. We are a fast-growing team that has already achieved significant milestones in protecting homes across Northern and Southern California. Our team includes experienced engineers, product designers, and industry experts, and we are looking for a Director of Insurance Partnerships and Development to scale our impact across the insurance industry.
About This Opportunity
As Director of Insurance Partnerships and Development, you will lead efforts to position Frontline as a risk-reducing partner for insurers operating in wildfire-prone regions. You will develop and deepen partnerships with insurance carriers, MGAs, and reinsurers—translating Frontline’s value into scalable, programmatic solutions that can help expand underwriting capacity, reduce claims exposure, and create new product opportunities.
This is a high-visibility, cross-functional role that blends business development, strategic sales, and product partnership. You’ll work closely with senior leaders across product, regulatory, actuarial, and underwriting teams at insurance providers—and collaborate with internal stakeholders to shape how our platform integrates into carrier workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead strategic partnerships with insurance providers, MGAs, and reinsurers who can benefit from Frontline’s wildfire mitigation platform.
- Clearly articulate the value of Frontline’s system—including physical wildfire defense, risk scoring, and real-time homeowner engagement—to key stakeholders across underwriting, product, and actuarial teams.
- Design and negotiate pilot programs, premium incentives, and scalable distribution pathways tied to Frontline installations and software services.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align product development, roadmap priorities, and technical integration with insurance partner needs.
- Drive adoption of Frontline’s software platform within carrier workflows to support alerting, homeowner engagement, and improved risk performance.
- Identify data-sharing opportunities to enhance underwriting accuracy and loss prevention modeling.
- Serve as a trusted liaison for insurance partners—ensuring alignment on goals, policy structure, and long-term success.
Qualifications
Must-Have:
- 7+ years in insurance partnerships, product development, or strategic business development within or adjacent to the P&C insurance industry.
- Deep understanding of how insurance products are priced, underwritten, and distributed—especially in catastrophe-exposed markets.
- Track record of building and closing strategic deals with insurance providers, ideally in a regulated, risk-sensitive environment.
- Strong cross-functional skills—comfortable translating technical concepts for business audiences and vice versa.
- Passion for climate resilience, risk mitigation, or the future of insurtech.
- Experience working with or selling into carrier product teams, underwriting, actuarial, or innovation groups.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience in home insurance underwriting, reinsurance, or risk modeling.
- Prior involvement in wildfire-related products, risk scoring platforms, or resilience technologies.
- Relationships with key stakeholders in the California or Western U.S. insurance landscape.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $100,000 to $160,000 DOE + Performance Bonuses + equity options
- Company-provided cell phone and laptop computer
- Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance
- 401(k) plan
- Flexible time off policy + 10 paid holidays per year
- Remote First work environment, fostering work-life balance and autonomy
- Join a passionate, mission-driven team making a real difference
