About Frontline Wildfire Defense
At Frontline Wildfire Defense, our mission is to protect homes, families, and communities from wildfire disasters. Our innovative wildfire defense system allows homeowners to track wildfires, receive critical alerts, and actively safeguard their properties using a remotely operated fire protection system. With multiple layers of redundancy, our system hydrates homes and surrounding areas to prevent ignition from flying embers—the #1 cause of structure loss during wildfires.
About This Opportunity
As a Financial Controller, you will lead the accounting function and build a scalable financial infrastructure to support Frontline’s rapid growth. Reporting to the CFO and managing a small, high-performing team (2–3 people), the Controller will oversee all accounting operations, implement robust systems and controls, and partner cross-functionally to improve financial accuracy, transparency, and efficiency. The ideal candidate has a blend of construction and SaaS accounting experience, strong operational skills, and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
Key Responsibilities

- Lead month-end and quarter-end close processes with timely reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
- Ensure GAAP compliance through clear documentation, ASC memos, capitalization policies, and stock-based compensation accounting.
- System Implementation & Process Optimization
- Drive automation by building scalable workflows that reduce manual effort and support long-term growth.
- Lead requirements gathering and successful implementation of an ERP system and related financial tools.

Who You Are:
- Thrive in complex, multi-entity or multi-revenue-stream business models, with the ability to untangle operational nuance and bring financial clarity.
- A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and can prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced setting.
- Proactive problem-solver with a strong sense of ownership and a solutions-oriented mindset.
- A process improver with a passion for automation, systemization, and scalability—always looking for opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve accuracy. Comfortable experimenting with AI tools and emerging technologies to drive efficiency and uncover insights.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to explain complex financial topics to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Curious and growth-minded, eager to learn and continuously improve.
