Eye to Eye was founded in 2020 out of Co-Founder Dr. Smits’ frustration due to the suboptimal care associated with in-clinic visits and the traditionally data-poor nature of glaucoma care. Inspired by advances in digital health and home monitoring, the cofounders saw an opportunity to innovate solutions that empower clinicians and patients through connected devices, real-time data, and analytics. The company has successfully developed a final prototype that meets both FDA accuracy thresholds and our internal goals for high ease of usability. With financial backing from institutional investors, grants, and ophthalmologists from around the country, the company is now ready to pursue regulatory clearance and subsequent pilot operations.
